How to Style your Dupatta

I cannot say that I am a very big fan of ethnic wear, but I do love how authentic, elegant, and comfortable it can make one feel. Outfits using ethnic pieces are such a big catch. The Indo-Western looks are a total dig right now. And in this post of mine, I am trying to create a rather modern look out of a dupatta. I hope you all will give it a try, or create many other different looks and let me know how it turned out.

You can see how I turned my Leggings into a backless top here – DIY: Turn your Leggings into a Top. If you have old T-shirts that you want to re-wear you can see DIY: Turn your T-shirt into a Wrap-Around Top. If you want to see different ways to style your shirt, you can visit Style your Shirt in 3 Different Ways. And lastly, if you want to see how to style a Bandana Scarf, visit Different Ways to Style Bandana Scarf.

There are basically only 4 steps to follow to get the look and here it goes :

Step 1 – Fold your dupatta into half and squeeze the corners.
Step 2 – tie it around your upper waist where ever you want your top to start.
Step 3 – lift the bottom loose end of the dupatta and pull it all up to one side of your shoulder.
Step 4 – Tie it at the back at the back pretty tight so it does not loosen up further on, and I tied it in a rather odd way to get a messy look.

And voila, you got yourself styling a dupatta and ready to turn heads everywhere you go.

If you actually end up trying this, let me know how it turns out. Or if you want to contact me, you can do so through the contact page, from the comment section below and through a DM on my Instagram. Hope you enjoyed this space!
